Swap plants, not peace of mind.
Most exchanges are straightforward and friendly. A few sensible habits protect your privacy, your plants and the wider community.
Meet safely
Use a public, well-lit place for handovers when practical. If collecting from a home, tell someone where you are going and avoid sharing the address until the swap is accepted.
- Keep plans in Plant Swap chat
- Do not publish phone numbers or exact addresses
- You can cancel if anything feels uncomfortable
Check the plant
Look for visible pests, root problems and damage before exchanging. A few cosmetic marks are normal, but they should have been clearly described.
Use care with postage
Agree who covers postage, pack roots and foliage securely, and avoid posting during extreme temperatures. Plant Swap does not take payments or arrange couriers.
Report concerns
Every listing, profile and conversation can be reported. Blocking stops future messages and hides the member from your account. Reports are stored for moderation review.
Illegal content and emergencies
Use the report control for suspected fraud, threats, exploitation, illegal plants or other unlawful content. For immediate danger call 999. Suspected online child sexual abuse can also be reported to the Internet Watch Foundation. Plant Swap reviews reports and may preserve information or disclose it where legally required.
Make a safety complaint
If you disagree with a moderation decision, believe a report was missed or need to raise a privacy concern, use the contact form. Choose Online safety or Moderation appeal so it reaches the correct queue.
Need to report something outside a listing?
The contact form accepts safety concerns, moderation appeals, privacy requests and general support questions.
