Clear rules for fair, safe plant swaps.
These terms apply when you browse, create an account, list a plant, message another member or arrange a swap through Plant Swap. By using the service, you agree to follow them.
Eligibility and accounts
Plant Swap is currently for people aged 18 or over in the United Kingdom. Give accurate account information, keep access to your sign-in account secure and do not impersonate another person. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
What Plant Swap provides
Plant Swap helps members discover plants and communicate about possible exchanges. Plant Swap is not the owner, seller, buyer, courier or party to a swap, does not hold payments and does not guarantee that a member, listing or plant is genuine, healthy, lawful or suitable.
Listings and plants
Only list plants you are entitled to exchange. Use current photographs, describe condition and pests honestly, and state what is included. Do not list stolen plants, protected or unlawfully collected specimens, prohibited invasive species, unsafe products or anything that cannot lawfully be possessed, transported or exchanged.
Offers, messages and meetings
An offer can be accepted, declined, cancelled or countered through the platform. Members remain responsible for agreeing collection, postage and any costs between themselves. Keep arrangements in Plant Swap messaging, inspect plants before handover where possible and use a safe public meeting place when appropriate.
Prohibited behaviour and content
Do not use Plant Swap for fraud, harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, exploitation, illegal goods, spam, scraping, malware, evading a block, publishing private information or encouraging unlawful activity. Content that may involve immediate danger or child sexual abuse must be reported promptly through the safety process and, where appropriate, to emergency services.
Moderation and enforcement
We may review reports, preserve relevant records, restrict visibility, remove content, pause listings, limit messaging or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or these terms. We may act without advance notice in urgent cases. Members can raise a moderation or online-safety complaint through the contact page.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you create. You give Plant Swap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize and display that content only as needed to operate, secure and promote the service. You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload it.
Availability and responsibility
The service is provided with reasonable care but may change or be unavailable. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Plant Swap is not responsible for member conduct, plant health, allergic reactions, property damage, postage losses or indirect losses arising from an exchange between members.
Closing accounts and changes
You can close your account through the dashboard. We may update these terms when the service or law changes and will make material changes clear. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales; mandatory consumer rights and your right to bring a claim in another applicable UK jurisdiction are unaffected.
